Two Free 2015 Calendars by Jesús Manuel Mena Garza

2015 is just around the corner. Why not get a fabulous calendar to share. It is very simple. Click either or both images to download. The files are in the form of a large PDF. Print on letter, legal, tabloid or other size paper. Print via a basic black and white laser printer or high end photo printer. It is your choice.

Another option, you can copy the file to a CD, thumb drive or download to a retail website such as CVS, Walgreens, Costco, etc. Trim the image and you are set. If you have any questions please give me a call or send an email.

Print extras. They make great (cheap) gifts. Generously give one poster to your teacher or professor. They will be absolutely impressed by your excellent taste.

UCLA Chicano Photographers

On September 25, 2011, I loaded my vintage 35mm Nikkormat camera with TMax 400 (black and white negative film) and photographed Oscar Castillo and Harry Gamboa, Jr. at UCLA. The two Los Angeles photographers were talking about their photographs taken several decades earlier. I felt incorporating the anachronism that is now film photography would celebrate and bring context to the historic event. Feel free to send me your comments.

Photographers Conundrum

By Jesús Manuel Mena Garza

Like Henry David Thoreau, I long to abandon waste and illusion in order to discover life's true essential needs. A pastoral realm that integrates both nature and culture.

Lately, I have imagined a simpler life. Then I acknowledge I am a photographer. Photography requires acquiring and mastering certain technologies. Not so simple.

Today, I exist on the margins. A place where nature has been stripped and replaced by a layer of human infrastructure. Still I imagine leaving this artifice behind and assimilating back into the natural realm.
